new forest walks and presentationsNew Forest walks and presentations are a great way to learn about this unique area of the country. We are happy to give guided walks around Pondhead Inclosure for community organisations and groups who would like to learn more about our activities and the benefits to wildlife. Learn about charcoal making, coppicing and how we maintain rides (tracks) for the benefit of a variety of wildlife. Pondhead Inclosure is also steeped in history since Saxon times, and it’s a history that we would be pleased to share with you – as you walk the woodland you will be following in the footsteps of Kings and Queens of England!

Any time from spring through to autumn is a good time to visit. In particular, there is a good display of bluebells during late April and early May. At other times from mid March to mid September, we can show you how we make charcoal on a fully sustainable basis from the timber that we cut during our woodland restoration.

During the year, we are able to give talks and presentations about our activities at your premises. It helps to make the presentation more visual if you have a projector and screen available. These presentations can be tailored to suit your needs. We can be entirely flexible – just tell us what you would like and how long you would like us to talk.

Pondhead Conservation Trust is a registered charity run entirely by volunteers. We do not charge for undertaking walks and presentations but appreciate a donation commensurate with the funds available to your organisation and the time commitment of our volunteers who undertake these events.

We’d be delighted to welcome you to Pondhead. For all enquiries about New Forest walks and presentations, please complete the attached form and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
