Team volunteering in the New Forest – looking for a team building day with a difference? Have you done all the usual corporate events and are looking for something different? Looking for a day away from the normal work environment to get some fresh air in your lungs?
Why not undertake a team conservation task with us. A day that lets you put something back into the environment while helping to conserve a unique area of the UK – the New Forest? The New Forest is the largest remaining former Royal hunting forest in the UK and one of the most unique landscapes in Western Europe. The National Park covers approximately 250 square miles and our woodland sits right at the heart of it, adjoining Lyndhurst, the unofficial “capital” of the Forest. Whilst it is estimated that the New Forest attracts around 13.5 million day visitors per year the woodland in Pondhead provides a secluded area of peace and tranquility. Many organisations and employers appreciate the benefits in taking a day out of the normal routine to undertake team building activities in a setting completely removed from their normal everyday work environment.
With increasing threats to our environment and our biodiversity, the natural environment found in Pondhead Inclosure offers great opportunities for team building events undertaking practical conservation work. Improvements to the area’s biodiversity can be made quite quickly and even a few hours work can show a marked improvement to the appearance of the work site giving satisfaction to all those involved.
We have public liability and appropriate insurance for all volunteers. Full health and safety talks and tool demonstrations are given before each task by experienced and qualified event leaders who supervise the tasks throughout the day. On all events we only use hand tools.
We can tailor the day to meet your needs and, if required, can supplement the day with a short walk through historic woodland and heath, when we will tell you all about the history, customs and wildlife of the New Forest, much of which is found nowhere else in the UK.
PLEASE NOTE – Team days can take place at any time during our conservation work season which runs from the beginning of September until the end of February. We aim to have all conservation work completed during the woodland’s dormant period and ahead of the bird nesting season.
