Pondhead Inclosure is not just any old bit of woodland – it’s unique in the New Forest and has a rich history going back many centuries prior to William the Conqueror.
Over the past few years we have unearthed a significant amount of information on Pondhead and its surroundings through the centuries, during which it changed from a royal deer park to an arable farm and back to woodland. We will continue to up date this history as new information becomes available.
